The new Trouble Maker imprint, founded in 2017, is releasing countless quality EPs all over the shop, mainly in the sort of minimalistic, break-driven style that has evolved from the marriage of trends between electro and tech. Extra Terrestrial comes through as a debutant with two big, bad and killer cuts that literally blow out the speakers when that needle touches the wax; "Renegade" is a heavy, thick techno slammer with a bubbling, pseudo-electro bass that verges on the noxiously acidic, while "Satisfaction" actually rolls out a much funkier sort of vibe, driven by mesmeric, aqueous beats and a vocal sample that will surely become a future classic. Carl Finlow aka Vatican Shadow remixes the latter into a much drearier, more solemn groove that has a wonderfully tenebrous slant to its vision.
