Scatcity RecordsScatcity’s label head Skatman debuts his first EP on the collective with ‘Back In The Zukunft’. After a series of
appearances on the imprint, the Berlin based producer drops a powerful four tracker that sees the return of Ivory
on the rework.
Opening up with the title track, electric synths frantically riff over a rolling bassline, quickly morphing into a
brooding alliance that combine and chug endlessly into the distance.
With huge support already from Dixon, ‘Psyche’ makes out for a real peak time delivery from Skatman. A melodic
synth line hovers effortlessly against a looming range of chords and a chunky bassline, opening its filters slowly
as you become submersed deep into its dream like atmosphere.
Rolling onto the B-side, a percussive groove lays the foundation for ‘Meraki’, as he leaves space for a gentle
melody to gradually fill the mix, gathering its intensity as it suddenly morphs into an acidic strike.
Welcoming back Ivory with, he flips ‘Meraki’ into a much darker and hypnotic charge, rounding off the EP and
leaving one last mark on the dance floor.
