Small Black DotsIn general, relatively few house and techno organisations get involved in the annual Record Store Day jamboree. This therefore makes this highly limited offering from Barcelona-based shop and vinyl distribution outfit Small Black Dots extra-special. It's a multi-artist affair featuring four suitably solid cuts sourced from labels SBD distributes. Roby J kicks things off by peppering a spacey, old school tech-house groove with attractive bleeps on 'Floods of Joy (Ancut Edit)', before Deeper Audio Cuts' Scott Featherstone goes deeper and darker on the deliciously crunchy 'Late 08'. Over on the B-side, Baffling Noise offers up the Yorkshire bleep-in-space flex of Yonder Kids alien-sounding 'Into Blip', while 3NO Records' regulars Analogue Cops AKA Protectorate successfully join the dots between deep house and tech-house ('Closeaway').
