Re:earthYour friendly resident neighborhood Local DJ delivers 5 washed-out and watery house tunes to 12" wax, proclaiming the idea that 'It's A Disaster!' The tunes, though, don't exactly sound disastrous. Quite the contrary: 'The New Way Of Doing Things' whirls through echo, funk whistle and drone. Meanwhile, the extent of Local DJ's production chops get slowly tantalized; 'A Nice Stream' channels unprecedented levels of swing and cheese into its beats, and that's not to mention the robotic text-to-speech samples thrown in. The B tunes, 'U R The Best' being the highlight, round things off on a hat-trick of blissouts.
