Long before electro returned to prominence, Transparent Sound was serving up must-check slabs of body-popping brilliance. In fact, the Bangor-raised duo have now been releasing music for 27 years. 'Beneath The Beauty', the pair's latest single, first featured on 2019 album Gently Evil. It's a fine slab of punchy, intergalactic electro rich in undulating TB-303 acid lines, alien-sounding electronics, shimmering pads and potent TR-808 beats. It comes accompanied by a brand-new flipside rework courtesy of US electro veteran Freddy Fresh, who gives the track a darker, more claustrophobic feel while adding a sparkling new lead line that's impressively futurist in tone.
