( MALONIAN 004 ) MSDEEP - Rhadzica EP (12") Malonian Germany

While yet to reach the dizzying heights of some of their contemporaries, Msdeep has nevertheless released a couple of fine EPs on Neostrictly. This two-tracker - their first 12" on Malonian - could well be their strongest release to date. It begins with "Rhadzica", a deep and bass-heavy, broken-house shuffler rich in intricate, minimal style percussion programming and dub-influenced textures. Turn to side B for "Denine", a slightly more rugged and alien affair that wraps razor-sharp, TB-303 style electronics and alien synthesizer flourishes around another loose, languid and hypnotic late night groove. It's the kind of cut you'd expect to hear in Berlin clubs around 8am, which is no bad thing.
