Label
INITINIT label head Shintaro D has certainly impressed us with his new Tokyo based imprint (which he co-runs with Kensuke Yasuhara) and the two various artist EPs which they've both appeared on alongside the likes of homegrown heroes like Takashi Himeoka, Yoshitaca and Sinob Satosi. But this time Shintaro strikes out on his own for the label's third edition and sees him carry on with the label's penchant for all things deep, dubby and hypnotic. There's the absolutely lush opening track "Akasen" which is testament to this. Next up is the tongue twister titled "Sikaquikami" which will equally contort your ears with its 303 acid squelch facing off with broken beats and woozy sound design. On the flip, it's all about "Magatama", a smooth, stripped back and rolling afterhours jam that will appeal to fans of labels like Amphia or Tardis. The remix up next by Rio Kawamoto dives even deeper, venturing into more abstract territory on this fine microhouse groov
