DelaphineEarlier this year, Samuel Andre Madsen impressed with his debut album under the S.A.M alias, Dream State of a Bellmaker. That album was marked out by the producer's willingness to flit between styles, applying his deep and quietly melodious approach to techno, house, ambient and electronica. This follow-up EP takes a similar approach. So while untitled opener "Track 1" is a hypnotic, dreamy and rolling deep house club workout, "Track 2" is a sublime chunk of texture-driven, deep space ambient. Similarly, on the reverse, the analogue Detroit techno-meets-Chicago jack of "Track 3" makes way for the intergalactic, dub-flecked IDM shuffle of "Track 4". Naturally, all four cuts hit to spot - though we'd expect little less from a man of Madsen's talents.
