( CYM 002 ) STEVE MARIE / RUKKA / ARLANOA / HILO - Iteration EP (12") Cymatique France

The months have passed since the debut release from French label Cymatique, a multi-artist EP featuring a quartet of club-ready electro cuts. This belated follow-up shares the same blueprint and artistic ethos, though there's arguably more variety to be found across the five tracks. Steve Marie offers up a trio of tracks on side A, with the twisted industrial funk-meets-electro workout "Down Times" being followed by the acid-propelled breakbeat shuffle of "The Call" and the ghostly techno romp "Lost In The Vortex". Over on side B, Rukka and Arlanoa bounce their way through interplanetary synth riffs and razor-sharp acid lines on "Human Nature", before HiLo delivers the EP's most metallic and far-sighted club cut, the acid-laden punch of "Model P".
